ALAN WALLACE
A Buddhist practitioner and meditator for 30 years with a background in the Kalachakra, Mahamudra, and Dzogchen systems, Alan Wallace is also trained in Western physics, psychology, and philosophy of science. He serves as a principal interpreter for HH the Dalai Lama, notably during the ongoing series of Mind and Life scientific conferences. He is particularly interested in the relationship between Tibetan Buddhism and Western thought and is the author of several books on the subject. Resident in the US, Alan Wallace travels to Europe to teach and take part in conferences at the invitation of Buddhist groups and scientific organisations; this particular series of talks was given at the invitation of Bodhicharya Buddhist Group in Sussex, England, in September 2002.
